Insurance products
I got caught up in this the other day so yes, I am aware of the issues and indeed how the Online Travel Agent system can resolve this to your satisfaction. Just a quick explanation for you if it’s of use. The new add-on products are different insurance poducts which although take the same information to create them, we need to separate them in order to let each underwriter see his own products. To do this we effectively create them as separate products and bundle them into a sale. For the customer we want to keep this simple as per Ash’s proposed selection we show the ‘bundled product’ – Single trip travel insurance, Single trip travel insurance plus gadget cover and CDW, etc. etc. The customer fills out their details and buys it as a single thing. Imagine the customer buys single trip travel along with gadget and CDW. From the system we need it to ‘purchase’ the three policies and link them together. Technically this is not difficult – they send three purchase policy requests using the product IDs they have for your products. The second policy includes a line containing the first policy number calling it a linked policy. The third then links to the second. And so on if you link more and more policies. The last policy purchase request should always be the travel insurance policy. This is the only policy which will have the ‘send email’ flag set as this one will contain the additional product text. I hope I have explained our Summer Holidays insurance product and you have a lovely time during you Holidays to Greece
